Adventures with Flat Stanley
Multiple Session Class
Thirty minute sessions twice a week for three weeks with one follow up session.
Early Elementary: rising kindergarten (with lots of parent support)-rising 4th grade (5-8 years old)
Explore the world without leaving the comfort of your own home! Students will read the chapter book Flat Stanley together (available on Amazon). Then have the opportunity to express their creativity by decorating their own Flat Stanley. Learn to write a friendly letter in order to record Stanley’s adventures, send him/her off on adventures with someone else, and then receive back pictures and a written summary of Stanley’s travels. During the session, students will mail their Flat Stanley to another student in the group and then later (after the session) to a famous person or someone who lives far away that they know. This will allow kids to see and interact with friends, learn about geography, take photographs, and go on a journey without leaving the safety of home.
Max of 15 students
Monday 6/8, Wednesday 6/10, Monday 6/15, Wednesday 6/17, Monday 6/22, Wednesday 6/24, all from 4:00-4:30 p.m. and a follow-up session on Monday 7/27 from 4:00-4:30 p.m.
